Here’s the truth: I’m trying to make myself more visable as a writer (actually I’m trying to get two books published, too) and I’ve been told I needed a website and a domain name
I have two self-published novels, Background Music, and Separate Ways, that I wrote with little understanding of how much re-writing novels needed. I also wrote but didn’t download correctly, Carved In Stone, which has been re-written. All three stories were solid–I stand by that–but the writing needed polish. I have taken that task on, but in the meantime I kept writing when new, impatient characters Woke me up in the night and demanded to be heard.
Eight Minuttes is one of my new manuscripts. Here is a very quick description of it: After their money-laundering parents are arrested and imprisoned, fraternal twins Susan and Daniel Ford discover hidden cash their father left for them. Daniel wants nothing to do with it, but Susan is all in. Conflict ensues, causing them to not only separate, but to put a continent between them. Later, when an outside threat appears in the form of a crooked cop, all bets are off, and they choose to fight—together–rather than flee. They have help in the form of a huge Rottweiler named Ivan and an elevator shaft, and nothing is predictable. It’s a fun ride with the prospect of redemption at risk.
Finding Savannah begins with Part 1, when a newborn is thrust into the arms of Connie Sullivan, an American tourist in a Peruvian marketplace. Once Connie and her husband discover that the baby has a devastating birthmark on her abdomen, they make a life-altering decision–one that requires bold moves and has lingering consequences for them, their families, and the infant girl they sneak into the US, raise as their own, and name Savannah Grace. Part 2 is Savannah’s story as she grows up, develops a cherished friendship with Austin, finds a niche that suits her, and seeks .
Finally, I wrote And All for One, a fun story told by Ruby, Margo, Olivia, and Zan, four extraordinary women who met at Miami High School when they sang in the chorus together and who have remained friends ever since. They are all turning fifty this year, and as they meet up on Kiawah Island for a weekend getaway, at least one truth will be revealed that shocks them and challenges them to come to a friend’s aid.
Hang in with me, please, as I get my act together and try to build this website so that before I shuffle off this mortal coil I can see my work in print.
