What I’d like to do with this page is ask a question and have you respond with your answer. Let’s try this: What is your earliest memory of finding out that someone outside your family did “things” differently than you and your family did them? I was around four or five and went to my neighbor’s for lunch. They had different bread and different spread and even different tasting filling than my mother used, and it was I think my first epiphany that the world didn’t do everything like we did. Lunch tasted different at my neighbor’s house. It was my introduction to the wonder awaiting me as I explored places and met people and experienced different ways, tastes, languages, customs, styles, and daily habits. What was yours?
